Originally from Seymour, Indiana, I moved to Apollo Beach in 2020. My passion for art is a family trait, inherited from both of my parents. My mother, Sally Patton, who started painting in her 40s studied with several artists, notably Michael Gerry, and her work is displayed in public offices and the local hospital of Seymour, Indiana. She taught pallet knife techniques at Betty Mannings' Stream Cliff Farms of North Vernon, Indiana, often featured in Better Homes and Gardens. Together, we exhibited our paintings there and at John Mellencamp's Center for the Arts in Seymour, Indiana.

My father, Doyle R. Patton, is a renowned luthier with over 60 years of experience. He worked with Gibson, Martin, and Ovation Guitars and began his musical journey early, playing with Bobby Helms at 17. His apprenticeship under a violin maker from Henderson, Kentucky, greatly influenced his craft. He was also a talented draftsman, building homes and churches in the region.I married in 1991 and have three grown boys. After many years in Northwest Indiana, we relocated to Apollo Beach in 2020. I am a licensed Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway and work for Icelandic Glacial Water as a Regional Execution Leader.

I studied fine art and computer design at Ivy Tech Technical College in Columbus, Indiana, and Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois. My career in the printing industry spanned over 30 years, focusing on typography, graphic design, and prepress work. I later sold large format and trade show printing in Chicago, enjoying the city's rich cultural offerings.

In Northwest Indiana, I was a member of the Hobart Art League, the Chicago Loop Alliance, and other industry organizations. I reproduced my work on various mediums, including canvas, copper, and glass to name a few.My artistic journey began in high school with creative drawing, window painting, and mural work.

I started oil painting during my time at Ivy Tech. My mother and I painted frequently with our friends Judy and Ray Scalf at the "Art Barn" in Nashville, Indiana and were inspired by other local artists like Cynthia Richards and Ken Bucklew. My work primarily features oil paintings, charcoal, and pastels, focusing on landscapes and florals. Since moving to Florida, I've expanded my subjects to include local wildlife, birds, and beach scenery. I occasionally accept commissions and participate in local markets, such as the Made In Mira Bay Markets held by our HOA community.
